You may not know it yet but improving your health and vitality can be as simple as what you choose to eat each day.
Your Grandma wasn’t too far wrong when she said to eat all your fruit and vegetables, or you wouldn’t grow big and strong!
Somehow, over the last 40-50 years, we have lost that gem of simplicity and now, bombarded as we are from every quarter by manipulative marketing strategies driven by powerful industries, reality TV and celebrity chef’s, we are fatter, sicker and dying longer than ever before…
The Beet Retreat is a local B&B run by 23-year resident Jan Saunders.
A former cop and equestrian coach, she went vegan in 2012 just because she loved all animals but soon discovered that eating a Whole Food, Plant-Based Diet also served her health and reduced her carbon footprint in ways she had never previously considered.
Opening the B&B and providing deliciously healthy, plant-based meals to people from all walks of life, led to requests for cooking classes which have gone on to become so popular that she will be increasing her monthly 8 person classes to twice a month in 2018 to keep up with demand.
While many locals have already enjoyed her fun and info-packed, 4 hour private or group classes she wanted to make these experiences more accessible to those who work full time, have busy family commitments or otherwise can’t spare the 4 hours to immerse in creating meals under her friendly tutelage.
And so, from November, a new format of relaxed 2 hours, early evening classes will be available.
Held from 6:30-8:30pm midweek and priced at just $60pp, participants will be warmly welcomed and will experience:
. 90 mins of hands-on cooking and creating with mostly organic and unrefined/unprocessed foods.
. 30 mins plus of relaxing over a meal created during the 6 person class.
. An emailed Recipe and Resources PDF for everyday reference -Ongoing support and advice relating to smoothly incorporating plant-based foods into your and your families lives
. A safe, non-judgemental space where questions are welcomed, friendships made and healthy, vital food enjoyed…all in the beautiful, restful setting of The Beet Retreat.
The content of these classes will run as a recurring 4 part series with each class having a specific focus ie breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts…plus an additional snack or pantry staple included in each lesson also.
Participants may attend individual classes or book as a series and receive a 10% discount and a special “thank you” gift.
