Here at The Beet Retreat we are passionate about a number of things and one of them is providing a warm and inclusive space where guests can discover, enjoy and learn how to create simple yet beautiful plant based meals.
We believe that incorporating more fresh, whole plant foods into our day is the most important component of life and health enhancement.
While we all “exist”…..life should be far more than that. A more exuberant and vital life is possible. We all deserve and have the potential for that no matter what our circumstance.
The key is finding simplicity and a peaceful heart through our daily actions and choices. This, in our opinion, starts with how we treat ourselves, particularly how we feed ourselves.
The Beet Retreat is indeed a Vegan Retreat but this does not in any way preclude non vegans from being warmly welcomed here. In fact, quite the opposite.
It is our aim to support and nurture guests so that they may discover the joy that is eating cleaner and more consciously while they are here. And assist them, if they seek it, in finding their way toward a better understanding of what it is to be Vegan or simply eating more Plant Based by way of enjoyable conversation and cooking classes.
Each morning we provide guests with a complimentary whole foods breakfast, consisting of nutrient dense Green Smoothies, Chia and Oat puddings, fresh baked bread, fresh fruit and a selection of Herbal Teas.
Other plant based meals are also available for guests and they can be arranged by prior arrangement.
THE BEET HEALTH PROGRAMMES:
Expanding on this, the creation of each meal is an integral part of the “Beet Health Fresh Start” programme where participants stay for a minimum of two days and immerse in a fully plant based food experience.
Participating in the selection and preparation of different courses and dishes in a hands-on, informal yet instructional format that will provide you with the practical skills and confidence to create delicious, nutritious and quick and easy meals for yourself and your loved ones.
Male or female, couples or single, young or old, all of us can be ready and open to learn about the myriad benefits that come to us through including more plant foods in our diet. The beauty and joy of these mindful changes is not fully understood until we actually experience it.
The more we eat this way, the cleaner our palate and mind become and the more we tend to seek it out over the empty promise of processed or animal derived products.

WHAT IS HEALTH?
Health should not be classified merely as the absence of disease.
While the responsible use of medications are often necessary and indeed crucial, there is so much more that is within our own hands to control, change or improve. The mere masking of disease or sickness through the use of medications should not be considered ” getting better” and the side effects that can and all too frequently do, occur as a result of the “quick fix” mentality are often worse than the original health issue.
With an enhanced diet, reduced stress and incorporating daily, appropriate and enjoyable methods of exercise, we begin to reclaim our lives, working towards a vital and glowing good health and the ability to fully embrace an expanded version of our previous existence.

A shift to a plant based, whole foods lifestyle may not only bring about a higher functionality, it may also provide us with the physical and emotional impetus to embrace a more sustainable, kinder and more socially aware way of living.

The Beet Retreat’s Plant Based programmes are designed to provide the inspired guest the guidance, support and confidence to start on, or to continue on, their cleaner, greener, kinder and more consciously plant based way. To share knowledge that will enable them to discover their OWN power in relation to achieving better health and fitness.
Leaving animal products off the menu, is a way of living from the ground up. Simply, naturally and in harmony with the better part of our natures and the world we share with others.

Better health is not usually handed to us on a platter if you’ll excuse the pun.
The truth is that personal responsibility is paramount. That may seem daunting to those who have found solace and a kind of numbing mindlessness through the consumption of stimulants and/or processed and/or heavy “comfort”foods that truthfully aren’t a comfort at all.
They tend to mask what it is we really need which runs far deeper than many of us realise.
Food as a band aid is a cry for help.
When we nurture ourselves with fresh whole foods, with natures perfect packages of plant food, we tap into a life force that most of us have moved so far away from that we no longer recognise or understand it.
We need to return to this place and share what we find there with our families and friends. We can create vitality and energy in our own lives and those we love, as we share the vibrancy that exists in plant foods.
A love affair with the kitchen tends to develop as we rediscover it….with a fresh perspective and mission and an open heart.
We feel a sense of calm and content as the vibrant colours, textures and aroma of fresh ingredients bring a new level of consciousness to the process of meal preparation. Our connection to food is different.
